How It Works Part II

creating
mental maps for the subconscious mind
symbols:
visual maps
One picture is
worth a thousand words. The lung symbol is your
blueprint for success, your roadmap to freedom.
It is a visual representation (symbol)
of your ultimate goal - a renewed and healthy
body. By using it on a daily basis you are
creating a visual map
for the subconscious mind, and you will be
able to see where you are and where you want to
go. This is a powerful tool in helping reinforce
your determination not to smoke.
affirmations: verbal
maps
An affirmation is a
statement or declaration of belief or intent.
Just as symbols are used to influence the visual
centers of perception, affirmations are uses to
influence the centers of linguistic cognition
and perception. When you use a short phrase or
sentence that you can maintain as true,
you are creating a verbal map
for the subconscious mind, and programming it to
create the desired condition in your conscious
experience.
visualization:
emotional maps
When you close your eyes and "imagine"
the experience of living life free from
cigarettes, you are creating an emotional
map for the subconscious mind. This
emotional map leads to feelings of happiness,
relief, liberation and gratitude. Your
"mind-set" will be positive and
constructive as you look forward to eliminating
cigarettes from your life. You will be glad to be
rid of them, and withdrawl symptoms will be
replaced by confidence, asssurance and
expectations of success.
repetition:
key to success
Repetition is the key to success.
It allows you to proceed a step-at-a-time at your
own pace. All of these exercises are aimed at
changing the subconscious patterns that have
dominated your smoking behavior. As these
patterns change your subconscious mind-set
changes from smoker to non-smoker. You
will be amazed at how quickly you can overcome
the desire to smoke. In a matter of days or weeks
you can transform and trancend the months and
years you have spent "practicing"
smoking behavior.
